What is it?
The Value of Industry Pharmacists (VIP) Case Competition is an annual national IPhO competition. Teams create video presentations highlighting the development of a mock drug from “bench to market”. Along the way, student pharmacists learn about the pharmacist contributions in Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Development, and Marketing/Commercial.
Participation
All paid national UIC IPhO Members are eligible to participate. Students compete October through February, and can earn 1 or 2 elective credits for the Spring semester. If all requirements are fulfilled, students will receive an A.
Purpose
Network with the UIC Vice-Presidents and other student pharmacists
Nurture your skillset: collaboration, project management, critical thinking, presentation skills, etc.
Demonstrate the value of industry pharmacists in key functional areas
Create a cohesive drug development plan and improve your technical skills

Registration closes.

Midpoint
Submission
Teams independently study and answer questions provided by nationals. The MidPoint Submission is finalized end of November.

Challenge Point
Each year, a Challenge Point is released in late November/early December. Teams must creatively tackle this hurdle to develop and release their drug on the market.

Final Submission
Teams submit a video presentation in late February. The Challenge Point is incorporated in the Final Submission.

Announced
